Cheesy Grits

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Cup Old Fashioned Grits not instant
  • 2 Cups Chicken Broth
  • 2 Cups Water
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp Slap Ya Mama seasoning
  • 5 Tbsp salted butter
  • 1 3/4 Cups Shredded Cheddar/American Cheese blend RESERVE 1/4 Cup of cheese to top grits with before serving.

Instructions
 

  • In a medium sized pot, bring chicken broth and water to boil.
  • Stir in grits, garlic powder, and Slap Ya Mama seasoning.
  • Reduce heat to low and cover. Cook 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Once thickened, remove from heat. Add in butter and 1 1/2 Cups of the cheese, stir until melted. Top grits with remaining 1/4 C cheese before serving.
